Climate Friendly Homes Fund (CFHF)

The Affordable Housing Conservancy is partnering with New York State’s Climate Friendly Homes Fund (CFHF) to help affordable housing owners upgrade their buildings, reduce energy costs, and improve resident comfort—all with no‑cost or low‑cost funding for eligible properties.

The Standalone Clean Energy Initiative (SCEI) Program provides mid-cycle grant funding to assist eligible property owners in transitioning away from fossil fuel–based systems toward cleaner, more efficient all-electric technologies.

Eligible projects include the replacement of existing inefficient space heating and/or domestic hot water systems with high-efficiency, all-electric heat pump systems. Funding is available up to $25,000 per unit for required electrification work, with up to an additional $7,000 per unit for electrification-enabling upgrades. Projects may also qualify for a solar photovoltaic (PV) adder of up to $5,000 per unit for the installation of on-site solar PV systems. Specific eligible uses and funding details are outlined in the SCEI Term Sheet.
